Very disappointed... shoes have so much sole that they look a size and half bigger than your regular running shoes. I felt like a big clown, and kept tripping over myself. I'm all for technology, but let's be realistic... you still have to wear the shoe. I returned these and searched the internet for my faithful 991s, which were discontinued... you can still find some on ebay.

The look of the product is nice. Unfortunately, the look does not match the level of comfort. The shoe is horrifyingly rigid---it does not flex in the slightest. I don't think any amount of "breaking in" this shoe would alter it for the better.
I bought this for my mother to replace another pair of New Balance shoes she had been using for a long time (they are different models, however). Still, I was expecting the new product to be similar to the old---I was wrong. The new product is completely different, all to the bad.
I am disappointed, because normally New Balance makes better products than this. Not sure what happened with this shoe.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis. I though I was going to have to take a break from walking for a while until a friend mentioned something about New Balance's 990 or higher Abzorb technology. So I tried a pair, and have been re-buying the same shoe every six months ever since! I switch it up with the colors so that I don't get bored, but this is the only shoe I'll buy.

These were the shoes I selected as a result of a prescription from my podiiatrist a few years ago. I'm so lglad to see that I was able to find the same shoe. So many times my favoite items are discontinued when I try to purchase them again. I was also pleased to see a good price.
