Product Description
Don't let heel pain, pronation and swelling slow you down -pick up the pace in this New Balance walking shoe. A breathable synthetic leather and mesh upper with a double stretch tongue adds a custom-like fit. Stability comes from the non-marking, durable rubber outsole, and motion control Rollbar® technology minimizes pronation (foot rolling inward). The removable Abzorb® foam insole works with the molded EVA midsole to cushion and redistribute pressure.

im a new nurse and was starting to have issues with plantar fasciatis and during all my time researching, this style shoe kept getting mentioned, so i bought them and my feet arent as achy as they were before. my feet still hurt but i stand for 12 hours a day and these shoes make my job more bearable. would highly recommend them to anyone. i know they are pricey but they are worth it and after waiting and checking around i was able to get them for under 50 bucks from here. yay!

3 out of 5 stars Didn't help my plantar fasciitis   January 30, 2010

I did a lot of research, and this particular shoe was recommended for plantar fasciitis. It actually seems to make mine worse. Also, the insole pills up, so I feel like I'm walking on little beads. For the price I paid, I'm not very happy with them.

I have very wide feet. My size is usually 7 1/2 Wide. In this sneaker I get 8 WW. They fit very well and
I will wear them out. The last pair (I think 840's)I wore through the sole. Good sneaker for the wide foot
and high instep.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect shoe for plantar faciitis sufferers   November 27, 2009

I bought this shoe after being diagnosed with plantar faciitis. I was having so much pain in both my heels that it was interferring with everything I do, especially in the afternoon and evening. My doctor ordered a pair of orthodics for me to wear and suggested that I get a pair a half size larger to compensate for the size of the orthodics.

I normally wear New Balance walking shoes, but I buy children's sizes because my foot is 4 or 41/2. I went to their web site and there was a heading stating that they had a category that is specifically for plantar faciitis sufferers. This shoe was one that comes in a 5 which is just slightly big for me so I then checked the Amazon site and, of course, it was available for less and also with free shipping. I bought a pair and have worn them every day since with great success. This shoe has all kinds of supports and really hugs the foot in the instep area and is very comfortable. The only thing I noticed is that for about a week, my ankles and legs would get tired and at first I felt as though I wasn't walking the same. This is because this shoe has a built in control to guide your foot not to roll which can irritate the plantar faciitis condition.

The only thing I wish that I had done differently is that I should have ordered the shoe in black for the winter. That is really knit picking isn't it?

This shoe is the most expensive I have ever purchased but has proven to be worth every penney. I highly recommed it.

I am satisfied with this purchase. I had hoped to get the exact shoe as I had purchased recently at a shoe store. The number was off by one. These don't fit the same, but they are close.
