mainly a fashion sneaker August 6, 2010 susan rohde I only let my kids wear good shoes, with good arch support. My daughter wanted all brown or all black sneakers, so I went for these. Luckily she doesn't wear them much, because they aren't great support, and the actual shoe part (minus the sole) is flimsy for New Balance. Still way better than a typical sneaker, like Reeboks or Skechers, but just not really up to New Balance quality in my opinion. I don't regret buying them - like I said, they are way better than some alternatives.
NB 790 July 22, 2010 X. Zhou (Texas) I am used to shoes with very minimal padded support. I bought these shoes as an upgraded replacement to my simple canvas sneakers for running. On the bottom line, these shoes are very comfortable. For me, though, at first, the arch support on the 790 felt a little too much. Now I have been running in these shoes for a few weeks, I am no longer bothered by the padding. I'd recommend these shoes.
Light and comfortable... May 9, 2010 YUWannaNO33 (Chicago, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
...but I wouldn't reccommend these if you're a serious runner/weekend warrior. Great for casual wear and light workouts. Not bad for 30 bucks.
light but comfortable January 10, 2010 Amy (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this shoe for myself- first online purchase of a shoe online. I liked the price and free shipping. At first I thought to myself that I should have read the product description a little better. I knew that it was lightweight but was a little suprised when I received it. I have come to enjoy this shoe, although I would not use it to work out in. It doesn't have enough support to wear other than on an errand or shopping. I do like the shoe and wear it often. It has held up well and not faded. For the price, I have come to like the shoe but the support is minimal. If you want it to wear with jeans or for shopping (not exercising), I would recommend it. It is a more inexpensive alternative black shoe. I am very pleased with the fit- perfect fit. I would buy another New Balance shoe online for its perfect fit.
Comfortable, light, minimalist shoe. January 7, 2010 Tanya B (Florida, USA) I ordered these shoes before a recent vacation that was going to include long periods of walking for several days. I wanted something that looked a little nicer than my white tennis shoes. I was worried that they wouldn't be comfortable, so I packed my comfy white shoes just in case. I never even took those white shoes out of my suitcase. These are some of the most comfortable shoes that I own. I have no idea how they would be as running shoes, but my husband (who told me about them in the first place) has 2 pairs and has run many miles in them. I have low arches and have had no problems, but I should mention that these are sort of a minimalist shoe with little support, so you might want to take that into consideration.
