Product Description Outdoor styling, athletic comfort and waterproof protection are the hallmarks of this low cut Gore-Tex Country Walker. Tough enough for rainstorms and snowy city streets, cool enough for casual Friday and weekend getaways..

| Customer Reviews: Comfortable but Cheap fabric wears May 5, 2010 K. Sartain 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've had a pair of these for about 9 months now. I bought them because I need a wide (4E) shoe and because of NB's reputation. I wear these on a daily basis and they don't see much rugged use. I mostly walk a couple of miles a day on pavement or hard floors. If I used them outdoors in a more rugged environment they would have not lasted well at all. They are very comfortable shoes right out of the box, so I like that. The thing that's really disappointing is the cheap mesh fabric they used around the top rim of the shoe. It's totally worn through, especially at the top where you slide your heel down into the shoe and also the section next to the laces at the top. If it weren't for this I'd top rate the shoe. They could have very easily used some soft leather around the rim which would hold up much better. At this price point I don't think a little piece of leather to make these shoes a bit more rugged would be unreasonable. I like the style and the comfort. I'd give these 2 1/2 stars. I'm going to be searching for another brand.
clunkers -- big shoes April 23, 2010 H. C. Mark 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
these shoes are ok but they are really boots not walkinng shoes -- best for winter as you'll have to use heavy socks with them -- maybe i should have not expected anthing different but i did...
Great Shoes November 6, 2009 Daniel Gerber (littleton Co) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
What great shoes! They were great right out of the box. These shoes meet the trail and perform like a pair of great made shoes that they are. They do hold up to water when crossing that stream and keep your feet well protected on that rocky trail. They clean up well for that Friday night out. Well worth the money
Great shoes October 24, 2009 Richard Gengler (West Chester PA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought these shoes for working in the yard and moving grass with a push mover. They are amazingly water proof when walking through wet grass; the water just runs off. They are sturdy enough and stiff enough to comfortably walk over rock pile or branches or dig with a shovel. The toe cap gives good protection but is still flexible. It seems that they are well made and will last a long time.
Not A True 4E Fit October 17, 2009 Billy Mac (Hamilton NJ) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I've been a New Balance fan for easily 20 years. Sadly their quality continues to waiver in my opinion. You can no longer assume that the size you have worn over the years will be close in fit. Now I realize they offer their lower end product to compete and you might expect deviation there but Im speaking of their higher end series shoes.
So do not expect these to come in as a typical 4E width. They fit much tighter and are very stiff. The quality control is just not in place on their imported products. This would not make a good walking shoe.
I made the mistake of hoping they might loosen up a bit and of course they did not. I should have known better.
It was an expensive mistake.
