I put a lot of mileage on these shoes September 7, 2010

I bought these shoes the start of April, 2010 and have routinely put between 30-50 miles per week on them. I walk at least 5-6 days per week. The exterior of both shoes show little wear including the sole which still has plenty of tread. I'm replacing them the start of Sept, 2010 because I have worn holes in the interior lining of both heels. I wear a size 11 4E and find these shoes to fit perfectly. They have given me good support and have not exacerbated my Plantar fasciitis in my right heel. I have found the perfect insert for use in New Balance shoes; Spenco Polysport Cross Trainer inserts. I have not felt any pain in the last two years and use these inserts in all my shoes. I was unable to purchase this model again and bought the NB646. At first glance, the 646 is fairly close to the 645 so I'm hoping that I will get the same performance.

I was amazed at how fast I got my shoes. Having purchased New Balance shoes before, I thought these would be as good a pair of shoes I had been used to and these certainly were. What I didn't expect was how good they felt as soon as I put them on. No "break-in" time required. The only downside was my color selection. I will order another pair again but in another color. I ordered tan.

These New Balance shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.
The 4E width makes all the difference. Other shoes that say they are wide or extra wide do not measure up. They are also well made. The last pair I had lasted quite a few years.

Fine walking shoe. Mostly all leather especially over the toes where mesh would let in the dirt. Size is true and hopefully the laces never wear out as you will never be able to replace them or come close.

I'm very pleased with this shoe. I wanted a good walking shoe that wasn't too heavy and looked good. It fit well and is very comfortable. I like the lacing system- the laces stay tied. The shoe is supportive and provides a good grip on various surfaces including dirt trails. I also liked that the toe area is protected by a durable rubber piece.
